[Design in Progress] This garden will occupy the steep slope at the edge of the clients' property, beyond the existing pool and bordering an undeveloped area with views of the native chapparal shrubland. 

We're exploring options to make the space useable with terraces and decking, incorporating seating elements and perhaps a cedar spa and firepit. The terraces will be surrounded by a lush and colorful yet undemanding and drought-tolerant perennial border with some small trees for shade. A matrix of native grasses and shrubs will help stabilize the slope at the perimeter. A new walkway will connect the existing pool landscape to the new terraces, forming a network of distinctive spaces for gathering, sitting, and star gazing. 

Planting by the pool will be structural and quirky with unique cactus and succulents intermixed with the existing palms.
